Doesn't it look delicious? It's the first book in the upcoming Shadow Keepers' trilogy, and it looks fantastic. You can read all about the series on J.K. Beck's web site.

Review: Simply Sinful by Kate Pearce

Here's a snippet from my review of 'Simply Sinful' by Kate Pearce (also a TwoLips Reviews Recommended Read):

I love straightforward characters, and Simply Sinful is filled with them. Just like she did in Simply SexualKate Pearce employs refreshing honesty rather than relying on the tired ploys of scheming and lies found in some historical romances. This is how erotic historical romance should be written, and Ms. Pearce has solidified her position on my short list of favorite authors.

I loved seeing Abby's self-confidence blossom as she discovers her ability to arouse Peter. I also loved seeing Peter realize he’s both capable and worthy of love. This book is sizzling hot and perfectly provocative. Readers should be warned that this book contains explicit male-male sex, but it’s handled very tastefully. In fact, it’s really, really hot.

Simply Sinful
has all the qualities I look for in a romance novel. I absolutely loved it.

Review: Simply Sexual by Kate Pearce

I occasionally review for TwoLipsReviews and I thought I'd share a few of my favorite reviews. Here's a snippet of one I wrote for 'Simply Sexual' by Kate Pearce, which I also gave a Reviewer's Choice Award and tagged as a Recommended Read:

"I adore a good erotic historical, and this one is absolutely wonderful, with intelligent characters, complex emotions and a plot that engaged my emotions to a rare high. This will appeal to anyone who likes an emotionally tortured hero who finds peace because of his wife's unconditional love. Very highly recommended."

Versatile Blogger Award

What? I won a blog award? Hey! My thanks to Jeanette at Today & Everyday for including me. :>]

Here's what you're supposed to do if you receive the award:

  1. (no brainer) Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award.
  2. Share 7 things about yourself.
  3. Pass the award along to 15 bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic.
  4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about the award!
Here are my 7 things:
  1. I'm a mother of a five-year-old with autism, who is the light of my life.
  2. I'm completely in love with my husband. We're so compatible it's almost scary. We've been married almost 15 years. Halloween is our anniversary.
  3. I'm a work-at-home Mom. I make and sell bath & body products that I sell on my web site, www.ForYourNose.com. I'm a scent addict.
  4. I was an exchange student for a year in Mexico, back in the mid-80's. I came home, majored in Spanish in college, moved away to teach high school Spanish for a year, hated it, quit and moved back home. I never looked back. But I still maintain some of the friendships I made while I was in Mexico.
  5. My favorite sub-genres are erotic romance, contemporary romance, historical romance and paranormal romance. I only read romance - no other genres interest me. I need to know I'm getting a happy ending... and I love smut. :)
  6. I enjoy playing video games when I can, but I haven't played much since Rhys was born. Some of my favorites are: Diablo I & II, Baldur's Gate, Half Life, Halo I & II, Legacy of Kane, Doom III, and Fable.
  7. I have two brothers - one older, one younger -  and they're my best friends.

Here are the 15 blogs I've selected to share this award with:

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Whittling The TBR

Here's a fun new meme from The Romance Reviews blog, and it's one that I really need to participate in.

Whittling the TBR is an event hosted by The Romance Reviews every Tuesday, and aims to decrease the TBR pile one book at a time. The purpose of this event is two-fold: 1.) to help book lovers tackle their ever-growing TBR pile as part of a community effort, and 2.) to bring not-so-recently published books to light.

My current read just happens to fall into this category: 'Tempt Me At Twilight' by Lisa Kleypas. I've been hoarding her more recent books for quite a while, and I finally decided to delve into them. She's one of my favorite historical romance authors, and this series has really captured my interest.
