Some Like It Sizzling (Harlequin Temptation, #911)Some Like It Sizzling by Jamie Sobrato
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was cute, and really pretty good for an older category romance. I do think anyone who runs away from someone trying to say "I love you" is completely idiotic, but aside from that I liked it.

She steals his horse with no explanation, then gives him crap about not trying harder to get it back. DNF.

Wanted: Undead or Alive (Love at Stake, #12)Wanted: Undead or Alive by Kerrelyn Sparks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

<3 Snout-Face <3 :)

What a delicious addition to the series. I liked Phineas a lot better as a hero than I expected. It's not the I didn't like him as a supporting character in other books, but here he's toned down and very likable. A very sexy and caring hero. Bryn is very likable too, despite her previous inclination for being prickly. It's all explained, and these two really deliver some excellent chemistry without unnecessary drama or angst.

I can't say enough good things about this series.

How to Ravish a Rake (How To Series #3)How to Ravish a Rake by Vicky Dreiling
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I'm a sucker for a wallflower heroine, and Amy was a really great one. The conflict was good but not too heavy, the angst was just right, and the chemistry between Amy and Will was delicious. This was a well-written page turner and I'll look forward to the next book by Vicky Dreiling.

The Sweetest Thing (Lucky Harbor, #2)The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Hmmm... OK. I didn't like Tara at all in the first book, but she was considerably less bitchy in this one. We find out why she's as frosty as she is, and while it still doesn't make her my favorite heroine, at least I came to understand more of what made her tick. I really liked Ford, even though he seemed a little clueless from time to time. The chemistry between them was great. But there were several times that I almost quit reading, because Tara was hot/cold/hot/cold/hot/cold and it got to be annoying. I had to wonder why Ford ever bothered with her. I made myself finish it (and if Jill Shalvis's writing weren't so good, I would have DNF'd it for sure), but I like Chloe even less than Tara so I'll probably skip the next book.

Rainshadow Road (Friday Harbor, #2)Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was good. Again, not as steamy as I generally like to read, but there were definitely parts where it touched my heart. I liked both Sam and Lucy, and I thought their chemistry was pretty delicious despite the fact that the angst was dragged out through most of the book. There was one part near the beginning where Sam could have caused later problems by not being honest with Lucy, but LK saved the day (and earned my respect) by NOT using that as a plot bunny for a conflict later in the story. I don't want to give any spoilers, but big kudos for that. There's a lot of honesty throughout the book, which I always appreciate. I wasn't too keen on the paranormal aspects of the story, and while they weren't bad and didn't drown out the rest of the story, I kind of felt like the book would have been just as good without them. I'll be interested to read Alex's story.

Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor (Friday Harbor, #1)Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lisa Kleypas writes with her usual excellence and passion. Not quite as steamy as I usually like, but the chemistry between the H/H is incredible and it's a great setup for the series. Looking forward to 'Rainshadow Road', my next read (which I won through Goodreads first reads program). It's good to know LK is as adept at writing contemporary as well as historical.

4 1/2 stars. This was really good. A little heavy on the angst, but it worked & I've already ordered the 2nd book in the series.
