Grenville Foxman Talbot, Marquess of Fenris has very vivid fantasies about widow Eugenia Bryant. It's a shame she hates him. Her late husband, Robert, was a good friend of Fox's. In a dream, Robert tells Fox to take care of her now that he's gone. He sets his mind on not only changing her opinion of him, but also on winning her heart.

Ginny despises that odious man. She really does. Then again, he does seem to be doing some very decent things. Like standing up for her young friend Hester Rendell. She also realizes, much to her chagrin, that she's really quite attracted to him. Her beloved husband has been gone for a while, and she misses physical intimacy far more than she realized. With Fenris making such a serious effort to court her, she finds it impossible to resist him.

I love the hero’s intensity and the sincerity of his feelings for Ginny. He expertly chips away at her dislike for him bit by bit and she wants to resist but she's discovering he's quite likable. He wants her, not just in his bed but also permanently in his life. I really enjoyed reading Not Proper Enough. I especially liked how Fenris never wavered in his desire for a life with Ginny. He was very patient even when she didn't necessarily deserve it. My biggest complaint about the book is by the time she finally decides she loves him, it feels like too little too late. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this engaging series from Carolyn Jewel to anyone who is a fan of well-written, spicy historical romances.
