This was an OK read, but I found myself skimming large parts of it. I think it was well-written and will appeal to a certain sort of reader, maybe those who look for historical fiction more than romance. It was different enough from what I normally like to read that I just didn't fully engage. I wish I could give it a better rating because it felt like the author put his heart into it and I hope it will find its way into the hands of readers who will appreciate it.
